Itinerary details: Go by car from Riolo Terme along the SS 306 towards Casola Valsenio, about 1 km. after the Spa, before the bridge turn left into Via Rio Ferrato. Follow the road towards Monte Mauro as far as Castellina, a ruined house with a large square where you can park the car. Past the house, take the path to the left which passes through a wood and arrives at Ca Faggia. The path goes uphill to the crossroads with the road to Zattaglia, here turn left and continue to the next crossroads. From here take the road downhill back to Castellina.
Additional information: From Monte Mauro you can see some large karst formations and many sink holes are to be found in the chalk.
