Access and requirements: First by bicycle and then by foot. With the first means we leave Faenza on the provincial road No. 16 turning into the first true road on the right (Via Sarna) and proceed for about 4-5 km until the evident Canalacci forest on the right. We leave our bicycles at the beginning of the forest at the devotion pillar that leaves a grassy foot path on the right leading into the forest. For the naturalistic aspects of the latter, see the relative information sheet (the whole forest is protected by the same law that protects monumental trees) and the natural vegetation (elder, black alder, oak, poplar) mixes with trees almost certainly planted by the owners (the Gessi Counts) in an unsure past but probably dating back to the second half of the 1800’s. They are mainly plane trees, even with very important examples, and – in minor quantities – horse chestnuts and lime trees. The foot trail always follows the banks of the stream (rio Canalacci) in the first section hydrographical on the right and in the second on the left, until reaching the banks of the Lamone river.
