From Casola Valsenio to Monte Battaglia

Itinerary details: From Casola Valsenio take the SS 306 to Palazzuolo and continue until there is a right turn to San Ruffillo. After San Ruffillo turn right and keep to this road which passes Monte Battaglia. The road follows alongside the ridge until it gets to Passo di Prugno. From here the road goes up to Monte Battaglia, it then goes down crossing the ridge taking you back to Passo di Prugno. From here you go down towards Casola Valsenio, as far as Campidello and Raggio di Sotto. Here you continue to go downhill until you meet the SS 306, turn right into it until you reach Casola Valsenio.
Additional information: The Monte Battaglia area was liberated by the partisans on 27 September 1944 and passed over to the allies after a bloody battle with the Germans. There is a monument on the mountain in remembrance of that day.
