Itinerary details: From Riolo Terme take the SS 306 until Cuffiano then descend to the right after the bar. Cross the river Senio on a footbridge and go up to the right until Villa Vezzano. Here take the road on the left which goes to Torre del Marino and follow it towards Monte Rinaldo and Casa Frontale. Continue to the right toward Monte Nasadella and descend to the grotto to then arrive at the provincial road. Turn right and after about 1 km. go left toward “Monte Rontana”. After about 2 km. beyond the town Collina, take a trail to the left which arrives at Fognano. Continue left toward Brisighella until you arrive at the road which leads to Zattaglia going towards Riolo Terme until the detour to Monte Mauro. Ascending to Monte Mauro, descend to Riolo Terme along the Rio Ferrato.
Additional information: The big cave of Grotta Tanaccia, certainly the most spectacular of the whole Vena del Gesso (Chalk Vein), is part of a vast karstic group of the same name. Inside, many traces have been found of human settlements from the late Bronze age. The Torre del Marino, like other watchtowers dating back to the medieval, dominates the surrounding valleys and gives its name to the “La Torre” Golf Club located in a beautiful gully area between Villa Vezzano and Riolo Terme.
