Itinerary details: Just outside Casola Valsenio leave the state road and take the provincial road for Fontanelice which after less than a Km passes the Herb Garden. Once up on the ridge which separates the Senio and Santerno valleys turn into an unmade road going down hill until you reach the house at Casola di Sopra. A gentle descent passes the houses Boscarello, Bosco, Chiesuola, Canovetta and the Chiesa di San Rufillo where the road is then asphalted. The descent continues, steep in places, down to the bottom of the little valley where it meets up with the SS 306 in Cantone just up the hill from the village which you reach by turning left.
Additional information: This route takes you through typical Apennine landscape full of woods and chestnut trees, etc.
