Itinerary details: Just outside Casola Valsenio leave the state road and take the provincial road for Fontanelice which after less than a Km passes the Herb Garden. Once up on the ridge which separates the Senio and Santerno valleys turn left into the road to Monte Battaglia (m. 715 a.s.l.).The road goes round Monte Battaglia fortress and follows the breakwater until it reaches the Church of Val Maggiore. Then turn right to descend into the Casola Valsenio area until you reach Mulino del Bagno where the road briefly ascends and then descends along the valley of the tributary of the Senio. Once it reaches the Chiesa di Budrio the road is surfaced and takes you to the S.S. 306. Another 4 km and you're back in Casola Valsenio.
