Among the several events that restaurant owners in Faenza and in the surrounding areas have organized for quality-food lovers is “Ceramica in Tavola” (ceramics at the table), at its 7th edition, planned to delight the summer of those who love the ceramic-art culture of our city and the food & wine tradition of our land.

Promoted by Confesercenti, Ascom, Cna, Confartigianato, Chamber of Commerce and Società di Area Terre di Faenza, under the auspices of the Municipality of Faenza and in collaboration with Museo Internazionale delle Ceramiche, Degusti (Association of restaurants of Faenza, it comprises a large group of restaurant owners who have been deeply involved in the promotion of high-quality food & wine traditions and tourist offer) has created an alliance between artistic ceramic and gastronomic art. Two different forms of art that, on this occasion, get stronger and complete each other, also thanks to the fantasy of chefs that inspired by the style “Occhio di penna di Pavone o Pavona” (majolica tiles inspired to the “eye” that decorates the edge of peacock feathers) - the ceramic theme chosen for this edition - have created new dishes, paying homage to this style and the historical time period in which it was born. The ceramic styles that inspired the last editions were: the Acorn, the Vine Leaf, the Compendiario painting style, Zaffera a rilievo (relief-blue), Geometrical flowered, Porcelain.

From June 15 to September 30 all restaurants promoting this initiative will be offering dishes inspired by the local products. For every dish, guests will receive a terracotta Scudone Manfredo (coin). With four different scudoni (coins) one receives a hand painted ceramic plate (decoration style:Occhio di penna di Pavone o Pavona), produced by the master ceramists of Faenza for this event, and a free entry ticket for the International Museum of Ceramics. With one coin (scudone) you will have a 50% reduction on ticket price.

The gift of this edition is a precious plate that will certainly be appreciated by passionate collectors of these valuable reproductions.

Ceramica in Tavola is part of the “Le stagioni della gastronomia faentina” (the Seasons of Faenza gastronomy) initiative, created by Società di Area Terre di Faenza and organized in collaboration with associations Ascom and Confesercenti and Degusti restaurant association. Now at its 4th edition, the initiative will host three important events (Il Piatto Verde, Ceramica in Tavola, AutOut), that involve local restaurants and holiday farms and whose common feature is high-quality gastronomy based on local products and traditions.
