Historical origins: This festival was created to remember a not so long ago past when people ate the Pera Volpina along with other products such as the potato called “la bianca di Torre Cavina” (the white of the Cavina Tower) or the black bean of Croce Daniele which are typical to this land. and people livened the table with a typical aged goat cheese which was wrapped and made more appetising with fern leaves and walnuts. It is possible to buy all these products at the food-stalls set up in the historic centre of Brisighella. The pera volpina, a “forgotten” fruit of the Lamone valley, has been rediscovered also thanks to this town feast.
It celebrates the characteristics of this small and tasty fruit that is usually boiled in water and wine or cooked in the oven according to an old tradition recipe, typical of this hilly area.
