Forgotten Fruit Festival - Casola Valsenio

Programm:
Back again in Casola Valsenio the traditional festival dedicated to forgotten flavours, to autumn products and to forgotten fruits. Like every year, the farmers of Casola will display the autumn fruits harvested from old plants in a scenario characterised by the evocative atmosphere of the cultural and folkloristic aspects of past rural life. The stars will be the forgotten fruits: medlars, azeroles, hazelnuts, chestnuts, bearberries, cornel cherries, walnuts, pomegranates, rose apples, quinces, "volpina" pears and all other small autumn fruits, which were consumed by the farmers of the hills in the past and which are still alive in the memory of many people.

AROMA, TASTE AND SECRETS OF THE FORGOTTEN FRUITS
Mr. Beppe Sangiorgi, journalist and expert of folk traditions of Romagna, will carry out a tasting to appreciate the colours, the aroma, the tastes..,learn more about the secrets of the forgotten fruits and how to use them. (In collaboration with the Agricultural Farm "La Croce" di S. Giorgio in Ceparano - Brisighella)

Presentation of the book "Handbook of Forgotten fruits ": a guide to rediscover a reality made of bright colors, fragrant aroma and flavors. Edited by Agide Katja.

Directions: by car:
from north exit highway at Imola and proceed along the Via Emilia towards Rimini until Castelbolognese, then turn right into the SS 306. Casola Valsenio is located at about 20 km.
from south exit highway at Faenza and proceed along the Via Emilia towards Bologna until Castelbolognese then turn left into the SS 306. Casola Valsenio is located at about 20 km.
