A Festival that re-proposes the ancient ritual of the slaughtering of the pig held in the yard of all farmhouses and the processing of the meat by skilled pork butchers. This event gives the possibility of lovers of good cuisine to taste delicious specialities in local restaurants and stands: tasty “ciccioli” (pork dripping pieces), delicious “coppa di testa” (a boiled salami using meat from the head of the pig), rosy “prosciutto” hams, sausages and salamis. There is also music, entertainment and a market of typical products.
S.Rocco Fair with its roots that date back to the 15th century, will be held in Faenza on Sunday 6 November. The Fair takes place over almost one third of the old city centre throughout the streets, piazzas, alleys, car parks, parks and clubs. From 9 a.m the streets come to life with tens of thousands of visitors, featuring a Medieval style market with military encampments, street performers trampolinists, jugglers, fire-eaters.
Halloween, this year celebrates its 23th edition, rediscovering its ancient meaning "Samhain" the Celtic New Year. Along the main streets, in the parks and in the squares of the town you may be immerged in a dimension of a very old past, surrounded by Celtic villages (Gauls) that were once present in this area, their rituals, music and magic. The main theme of the festival will be the fight between good and evil, animated by parades along the streets (organized by the “Remoti”), without forgetting the festive atmosphere, and lots of wine.
